The main Christmas markets have been cancelled this year, as have most of the events and activities running alongside them.

However, the Czech people are still marking the festive occasion as best they can. The following are running in Prague in December 2020:

– A Christmas tree at the Old Town Square creates a symbol of Christmas for all who manage to make the trip.

– A small Christmas market at the top of Wenceslas Square is open daily, comprising a few stalls selling handicrafts. Drinking alcohol in public is banned, so there is unfortunately no mulled wine (svařák) or Czech beer on sale.
